Hey folks out there!

I'm re-reading the Naruto manga (to get a better understanding and because I forgot some parts) and I just read episode 56 (reading on mangareader.net if you want to have a look or something).
And there is a sentence on page 4 from Sasuke which goes like: "Even if i must eat the devil's fruit.. I am on a path where I must gain power. [...]"

So my question is, is Kishi referring to One Piece there? Because I watched like.. the first 40 episodes of it and I remember that they talked about some devil fruit.. Or am I making things up here? Or is the "devil fruit" some asian mythology thing?

Not that this is essential to the Naruto manga, I am just curious.. :)

Mkay, thanks. Seems legit.
But I thinks it's funny to use devil fruit, like a major thing from another manga instead of.. just saying "I would even sell my soul".
Or maybe this would've been a huge hint, that in the future, Sasuke will sell his soul to the death reaper god, taking Madara or Obito or hell even both with him and therefor rescuing the ninja world but obviously he dies and gives Naruto his eyes so Naruto can become the new sage of six paths.. ôo (ok I came up from my thread, sorry making things up here, lol but it just came to my mind..)
