In Anime Episode 306, Naruto ties a red string around Sakura and him to make sure they dont get lost in the mist.
He calls it the red string of destiny.

The red string of fate, also referred to as the red thread of destiny, red thread of fate, and other variants, is an East Asian belief originating from Chinese legend and is also used in Japanese legend. According to this myth, the gods tie a red cord around the ankles of those that are to meet one another in a certain situation or help each other in a certain way. Often, in Japanese culture, it is thought to be tied around the little finger. According to Chinese legend, the deity in charge of "the red thread" is believed to be Yuè Xià Lǎo (月下老, often abbreviated to "Yuèlǎo" [月老]), the old lunar matchmaker god who is also in charge of marriages.

Minato called Kushina her hair, the red string of fate.

So, Kishi is kinda messing with our minds now?
He is going NaruSaku lovepair now and makes NaruHina a friendship pair?

What do you think?

That's just a common term in Japan from a legend as you said. Naruto saying it has no significant meaning in this filler

Yeah, I made the thread before that part :( haha. Might not symbolize much or nothing in the end, but I found it still interesting that they used that red string/thread of destiny/fate a second time :).

what i think is that it was a filler technique of naruto's. what I KNOW is that sakura rejected him god knows how many times in this episode negates that technique.

It's filler :)

I can't believe the animators are still doing these NaruSaku moments. Can't they see it will be NaruHina?

Kishi doesn't do the anime. The whole scene was just meant for humor (which I was glad to see in Naruto during this war arc).

Why do they make these things that are meaningless? Neji cut the line and he seemed to be against it.
Neji cutting the red string had nothing to do with his opinion of Naruto being with Sakura. He chopped the string because he wanted to remind Naruto that love is something to be achieve, not something that was depended on fate. Neji once believed that everything was decided before you were born, and that you cannot change destiny no matter what you did. It was Naruto who changed his perspective of fate (after defeating him in the Chunin Exam), and so Neji sliced the thread just to remind him of that.

Then he told Sakura to punch Naruto! lol

Seriously though, excellent post!

I think that when Naruto went to stock up on some rope, he picked some that was red just so he could make that metaphor.

The episode shows the big difference between Naruto then and now concerning Sakura. Naruto back then was almost a 24/7 chasing and annoying Sakura for attention even when returning to the village from years of training with Jiraiya it look like this thread would continue. But from Hinata's confession on Naruto's chasing Sakura stop and the false confession of Sakura to Naruto confirm this as Naruto saw it was all false. The relationship has change all you got to do is look over the old and new Manga, the anime and the fillers to see it. Naruto has grown up, Hinata has grown up their conferrable arrow n one a noter. Sakura is the one who has not grown up still chasing childhood memories of Sasuke on Her way to adulthood.

Its funny how when there is a NH moment in fillers (basically 70% of their moments are filler :p) NH fans go like oh yeah that cannon, or kishi must have told the anime team whats gonna happen so they are building up NH because kishi doesnt have time for it, however when there is NS moments its all just filler and kishi has nothing to do with it :p Double standards much ?

NH is way too popular here, much more than NS
Believe me, in this forum almost all(80% I'd say) are fans or lke NH. Also the hate towards sakura, it hits to this pairing as well :D
