so now that we were revealed what red hawk looks like in colour it seems that luffy's hand is on fire while doing that technique ......but i was wondering how the hell does he generate FIRE with just his punch and that to UNDERWATER!!!
if anybody can explain or knows the secret behind it do tell..

That's some serious mystery including sanji dj... Only oda can answer that...We can only assume..
Either mail him(sbs) or wait for explaination in future chapters...

Based on the recent chapters he seems to harden his hand using Bosushoku Haki in gear second and stretch and accelerate his arm speed. That may cause friction which in turn produces heat and flames (Just like Sanjis Diable Jambe) If Sanji can produce heat by spinning his leg then without a doubt Luffy could do it too. Ofcourse this is a nothing more then a hypothesis and Oda needs to clarify this and explain it more clearly.

Same as how Sanji does Diable Jambe underwater. How they do it we may never know.

Well, luffy was inside his small bubble when he hit hody otherwise the pressure of the water would've killed him and made him a hammer in the water. If you look closely then, there should be a bubble around him when he hit hody. How he did it? I don't no but it was epic!!!

Just like Sanji can use Geppo =DD

It's just One Piece, an Anime, let them burn underwater.

Enough speed causing enough friction to cause enough heat to instantly evaporate any water close to his arm.

yeah thats the most possible answer although it sounds a bit impossible ...well its an anime where people are made of rubber so i guess anything is possible :p

i was thinking same earlier but creating flame of fire is far different than evaporation... Its something different...
Now i think its for telling how fearsome and high level attack it is... If fire wasn't shown there was a chance we underate that technique and put it in same league of gear 2nd and 3rd techniques... It was for showing that it's something out of ordinary attack... I think it covers sanji's dj too... So the 'fire' is not actual fire but showing it's seriousness and fierceness
