Hello once again everyone and welcome back to another theory for your entertainment. This time I shall be tackling the past and future of X. Drake of the Worst Generation.

As a child from North Blue, Drake was excited about becoming a marine as you can tell by his clothing. What bugs me is that his clothes are dirty but the marine hat is clean indicating that he either stole it or someone inspired him.
The marine hat belong to his father Diez Barrels.
Diez was a marine who became a pirate. When that happened, he forced Drake to become a pirate as well. Diez tried to his son's devil fruit power for his own selfish goals.
Even though he was a pirate, Drake still dreamed of being a marine and there was a notorious North Blue pirate crew in particular that Drake wanted to destroy.
Reason for that is because the DD family was simply the most infamous crew in North Blue at the time.
When Corazon ambushed the Barrel pirate hideout, Drake used that opportunity to escape his father and flee.
While a pirate, Drake found out that the Barrel pirates were going to make a trade with the WG and Drake thought that was his chance to meet a marine and be recruited. Luckily for Drake, there was a Vice Admiral near Minion Island at the time.
Meeting VA Tsuru, she got Drake into the marines and he was determined to become strong and pursue justice.
Because he was brought in by Tsuru, Drake was a "special marine." In another theory, I said the original 3 admirals were special as well. Akainu was brought in by the Gorosei and shares their absolute justice, Kizaru was brought in by Sengoku and shares his sense of duty and Aokiji was brought in by Garp and shares his laid back view on justice.
Drake shares his intellectual view on justice just with Tsuru.
Drake was a marine for 13 years until his defection and there were multiple triggers for it.

The first trigger to Drake's defection was this:
The insertion of Donquixote Doflamingo into the Shichibukai ten you ago. The man who terrorized North Blue and Tsuru's pirate rival becoming a Shichibukai? This made Drake doubt the WG system.
Lets go straight to Sabody.
In Sabody, every supernova(minus Apoo) tried to flee the island except Drake. Instead of avoiding danger, the charged straight forth at a Pacifista.
From the get go, while everyone that the real Bartholomew Kuma had shown up, Drake new that it was a Pacifista and commented on Vegapunk's progress with it.
Drake even commented on the fact that Pacifistas have blood.
Why does Drake know so much about Pacifistas? Because he was a member of the Science Unit.
But wasn't Drake a Rear Admiral when he left?
Yes he was but who can be both a marine a science unit member at the same time as seen with Sentomaru.
This leads us to Drake's second trigger: he knows that the Pacifistas were once human.
Vegapunk's main lab is located in Marijoies and you know what is in Marijoies? Tenryubitto slaves.
Now then, pay attention to Kizaru's dialogue. It always bothered me.
"Are you scouting the other side?" This really got me thinking about Drake's true affiliation and that affiliation is the Revolutionaries which leads me to Drake's final trigger:
X. Drake meet Bartholomew Kuma in Vegapunk's lab. Drake questioned Kuma and commented on his disbelief in the WG and why would Kuma support such a inhuman regime. Moved by Drake's sense of justice, Kuma told Drake a little about his mission, the goal of the Revolutionaries and the WG corruption they fight against. Angered, Drake defected from the marines to pursue real justice.

Drake's name comes from Sir Francis Drake. He was an English vice admiral, sea captain, privateer, navigator and slaver who was granted knighthood by Elizabeth of England. He was the second-in-command of the English fleet against the Spaniards(DD family).
Drake's epithet "Red Flag" comes the red flag in politics. The red flag is a symbol Socialism, Communism and left wing politics; it has been associated with left wing politics since the French Revolution. The flags of several communist states such as China(Kano and Kaidou), the Soviet Union(Nico Robin) and Vietnam are explicitly based on the original red flag.

Law asked Drake that question cause he wanted to make sure that Drake meant right and never killed a soul as Law himself never killed anyone directly. Law also has a soft spot for Tenryubitto slaves(and forsaken North Blue people that I believe his entire crew is made of).
A fellow person from North Blue, Law was forsaken by the WG and wants a take down a certain man that Drake also wanted to take down for a while. Both of them knew of that target's business and Drake new about the SMILE program since he was in the WG science unit and that the WG was benefiting from that certain man's position.
The original goal of the Law-Drake alliance is was to take down the Heavenly Demon.
The plan was altered a bit when Law meet Monkey D. Luffy.
The main reason Law waited before he went to the NW was because he was waiting for Luffy to recover and make his comeback.
In the NW, you either work under a yonkou or you make alliances and target one. Since his partner was temporarily unavailable, Drake had to wok under a yonkou.
Drake choose to join Kaidou because he was the easiest and simplest yonkou to join.
Of course, Luffy decided to lay low for 2 years so Law had to journey to the NW and execute his and Drake's plan. While Law was taking his time, Drake informed Law that he discovered that Kaidou has a weapons factory and an army of SMILE zoan.
With this, Trafalgar Law got involved in the Underground Affairs and discovered that 'Joker' was infact Doflamingo and was again changed his plan. He set up a meeting at Rocky Port between 100 pirates where he ambushed them, stole their hearts and sent them to the WG.
Law became a Shichibukai to gain access to Punk Hazard and 100% confirm that Doflamingo was creating SMILE and supplying them to the Kaidou.
Doflamingo gave Kaidou SMILE and also to the WG. Drake came to the conclusion that the weapons factory was used to send weapons to the WG. Drake realized that the WG are doing business with a yonkou and is pretending to be justice. They are fine with the stalemate and they want pirates t0 run amok. As long as there are criminals, the WH can pretend to be justice. As long as there are outlaws, the WG has
a steady flow of income.
Drake now wants to destroy the WG's weapon shipment.
While Law was in the underground, Law and Drake made an alliance with these guys;
Drake has been placed on guard duty on Kaidou's favorite island but now he has someone on the inside monitoring Kaidou directly(just Lucci, Kaku and Jabra).
The new plan was a follows:
-Law destroys SAD and kidnaps Caesar
-Kaidou goes after and kills Doflamingo
-Drake takes advantage of Kaidou's absence to destroy the weapons factory
-CP9 assassinates Kaidou
As you know, things don't always go according to plan.
Drake has brought Caribou to Kaidou who no doubt told Kaidou about Poseidon. By the time Luffy's team arrive, Luffy will find out about Kaidou's plan and will charge Kaidou to stop him. So that the plan wont be jeopardized entirely, Drake will join the zoan army and capture Zoro and Chopper. When the alliance is ready, they will attack Kaidou and Kaidou will be beaten and Drake will leave Sabo, Koala, Hack and CP9 to join the Revolutionaries.
