the back story is the crew of the mineing ship red dwarf are subjected to a deadly leak of radioactivity. the ships computer holly keeps david lister a low rank crew member in stasis for million years for the radiation levels to die down. his crew mates are arnold rimmer a hologram of his deceased bunk mate and a creature who evolved from the ships cat. they travel through space looking for earth. its basicly a scfi comedy. look for it on you tube if u want to see a few episodes the first episode ironically called the end lol
