HxH isn't 100% canon, they left out the flashback with Gon in the beginning. I also remember some episodes being a recap for like half the episode but yeah there were no fillers. Also, there were some censored scenes in the beginning of the hunter exam arc.

As for you OP, no..there's not one perfect anime because we all like things differently.
I could suggest you darker than black as the bestest anime ever
yet you might hate it because the protagonist acts like a dirtywhore. so, I shall give you recommendations instead
