Probably the two best anime I've seen so far. If you love anime that are epic, grandiose, intellectual, philosophical, and complex, then these 2 are the best anime in that department.

Edit: I've noticed that you're lacking Death Note and Monster. Both are also great if not perfect anime in the dark psychological thriller department.
