Recomendations

Ok, I'm around chapter 600 of One Piece and when I get up to date, I'd like something new to enjoy. Please give me recommendations based off of my criteria. Thanks =D

Criteria:
I'd like something similar to Death Note (the whole psychological battle thing - or the use of intelligence to win battles in general - appeals to me)
I'd like it to be a short series (around 50 episodes or such?)
Preferably an anime but I wouldn't mind a manga.
Not Code Geass because I've (obviously) already seen it.

Also maybe Zetsuen no Tempest,Hellsing,Hellsing Ultimate,Soul Eater.

Its follows gon a wanna be hunter who is searching for his father but to do so him too must become a hunter and take the hunter exam, it has epic fights it has brains thanks to kurapika who you would soon know once you start it, all in all i rate it 7/10 its good!

The Liar Game is a good manga if you like mind games. IMO the plans in that are even better than Death Note or the ones in Code Geass but meh it's up for debate. It's not that original but the plans and their executions are fun. It's basically set up as a series of challenges or games in which people compete for money. For example in the first round, two people gain 100 million yen that they will have to give up in 30 days. But let's say somebody steals 30 million. They will get 30 million in profit since they only need to pay the 100 they got in the beginning... in turn, the loser is 30 million in debt. This is actually the worst round if you ask me, more like a beginner one, so at least get to round 2 (starts about 7 chapters in or something).

Not an anime but an appealing manga... the art isn't THAT great but you get used to it.
