So I went through the recent anime episodes after not watching for a few weeks cause of the pacing and seeing Rebeccas armor is quite stupid.I get that its the same in the manga but the anime rly shines light on it.
It doesnt protect shit.

There may be a weight limit to how much armor you can wear but this is ridicilous

Oda always liked to make the female characters more sluty then dangerous like how they all have giant inflated ballons for boobs, short dresses, mostly in bikinis, the whole nami/momo boob stuff etc but this is honestly the stupidest of all.

Instead of having Rebecca be a serious gladiator chick, decked out in armor and make her rly rly strong and serious he made her into a crying "little" girl who is mostly presented as a *** object even if she isnt weak.I honestly cant take her seriously like that, also all the other girls around the colloseum (sign up booth chick and her co-workers ) in the same situation.

I dont get why Oda does this with woman but to me its really annoying and one of the few things I dislike about the OP.
It seems like he is trying to hard to satisfy the perverted part of his fanbase... Even Robin went from a normal dressed female to always having her boobs pop out, short dresses and that "gangbang" scene from the fairys o-o,ok the last one is exaggerated and was kinda funny but you get my point

it can still be made badass while being limited without making her look like she was on the beach just a moment ago...

Rebecca attacks revolves around speed so wearing a bikini armour is just more fitting and comfortable for her fighting style

But I kinda agree with the rest, u said

I 100% agree op, I've been saying this for the longest.

Main reason Otohime is my favorite female. Her unique design and awesome personality, she seriously looks unique compared to everybody else. If only Oda made more modest designs like that :/

She's oversexualized like 95% of the other women in this series. Notice how most of them dress like street walkers.

yeah... seems like a wasted oppertunity..

I get she is supposed to be a young innocent girl by nature, a more sympathetic character than a badass character is what she is supposed to be..

But.. even with that, that armour doesn't make sense. So her attacks revolves around speed. COOL.. why then any armour at all? How about.. a jumpsuite, sports bra and if you gotta have a mask, have a mask in a unique design.. Nope nope, that Red Sonja armour makes no sense at all.
And if you had to make her sexy... fine, there's a thousand ways you could have made her sexy with clothing that made a hundred times more sense!
You know what is really good for speed, jumping around, and good movements in a fight? F*cking pants! Shesh!

Now all the commercial ladies standing around, I understand their skimpy out-fits, there are there to please the costumers and look nice for them, even within univers.
Rebecca.... no.. not at all.

Another thing I don't get... the constant running gag that all the guys loves Franky machine stuff, and robots and moter cycles and so on.

And All women without exception goes :|

I'm a woman! I've always been a woman! And If I ever encountered Genneral Franky, I know I would go; :ls:

That's a horribel stereo-type that all women would go :| when encountering robots, superheroes and every-thing that is actually FUN.

I would so totally pull a chopper and almost die from the excitement like at their reunion! XD

That goat.
OT: The idea that that armor would help always confused me. Or why wouldnt she be wearing like i dunno a shirt over it. or pants. Oda this aint fairytail.

Agreed. Who cares she's just a female? Females are tools.

But seriously, I don't see how it's much of a problem. She'll lose either way, I'm glad she never got the mera mera no mi. If she did, I'd pull some blues clues sh*t and go inside the manga and fk her.

I personally don't think you know what you're talking about. To put it bluntly, this whole thread is disappointing in many ways.

Firstly, there's no problem with Rebecca's armor, as it is historically correct. It varies from place to place, of course, but most gladiatrices had barely any armor to wear. If you weren't a professional gladiatrix, you'd risk fighting completely naked in the arena. Yes, the armor barely protects her, but guess what, that's the point. The spectators clearly want to see blood all over the colluseum - it's as simple as that. It's okay that you prefer 'badass-looking' warriors, but don't throw your complaints at us when Oda actually gives us a piece of history and culture.

And why do you even bring up her crying? I can only imagine how hard she actually has it. She's a sixteen year-old who's gone through more than I probably ever will, and it's understandable that she shows tears, because you know why? She's human. Maybe not the human, or character, that you'd prefer, but it's more realistic this way. I'm not all that fond of her character, either, but I don't find it necessary to complain about some tears.

And now for the bodies and skin that you, and others, seem bothered with. Quite a few female characters do show some skin, yes, but you don't seem to realize that they're not the only ones. Why do you only 'blame' the females when there are actually more males who show off their bodies? In most chapters, you'll see males with trained bodies, six-packs, and huge muscles, and they're far from afraid to show it all. Even after the time skip, Zoro started to take off his clothes when fighting. But when you suddenly notice a cleavage or two in a chapter, you suddenly lose your mind. At the end of the day, it's just some meat and muscles, and it's nothing to make a big deal out of - unless you're fourteen.

I will need t answer to that last part you said about men also being skin clad in this arch, which of course, you are quite correct about.

Here's the major difference though.. The men, in spite of being scandily clad, are not presented as obvious *** objects catering to a female audience that are supposed to be drooling or buying into man ribs.

When a man is skin clad in one piece, the emotion that are being conveyed is often either. "OH MY GOOD! HE IS SO STRONG! LOOK AT ABS! STRONG! BADASS! STROONG!" or.. "Haha, he is fat, he looks funny."

Women how-ever, are being presented and shown as obvious *** objects where the manga wants its reader to buy some pin-up posters of them.

Now, there is nothing with with having that ones in a while, and One Piece has been very good at delivering a large variey of strange women, which I appreciate a lot.
Also, One Piece is far from the only media that does this, and while order medias has ONLY these kinds of women, One Piece has a far greater variety.

Also One Piece is the one media that seems to be the most selfaware of what it's doing with it's sexy women, One Piece knows it's a pervert, but One Piece is proud of it any-way dammit! ... which does make it all a bit more endearing and forgivable than other places.

One Piece biggest flaw though, I think, is that it assumes that only boys wanna read it, gathering it to boys, and believes that girls don't like any-thing that is actually fun. (Genneral Franky, heroes in cape, ext.)

It's not compleately dis respectful.. not.. really... I guess the best way to describe how One Piece treats women is how Sanji treats women.

One Piece is actually like Sanji when it turns to women! Adores them, wants to make them feel special, dances around them... then turns out to be a complete perve after all <_<

ok joke aside, if you guys don't like it, don't pay attention, ignore it or just drop the manga. OP was quite perverted from the very beginning. women always had a bath at the end of the chapters and they were mostly big boobed babes. this sexuality oriented stuff, however in my opinion only showed up recently. especially with that annoying little samurai boy and now with the tontattas. but even if you complain about it, you won't achieve anything. go and complain to Oda if you wish, not like he will give a rat's ass about it. so in the end what I want to say is: obliterate samurais and tontattas!!!

Favorite female character.

about the last part I totally agree. you guys just try to look at it from a girl's view point. how we boys like exposed boobs and body, they also like exposed muscles and body. in this aspect this is the very same thing as the girl's exposing.

I don't see you complaining about any of the men with six pack abs and ripped pecs going around without shirts in this tournament. A lot of those guys aren't wearing any armor. Or about Franky with just a speedo on. Or Ace and Whitebeard going barechested. Or Marco, Luffy and Zoro having their shirts open and their chests and abs showing. Stop with the ****ing double standards, if it's okay for the men to be wearing revealing clothing, then it's okay for the women.
