Well, when you think about it. Devil fruit seems like some kind of like illuminati and sht like who ever call the demon (in one piece who ever ate the feuit first) gets the wish/power

I'm pretty sure it's whoever eats it first, then the rest becomes useless. Hence why Sabo threw more than half the fruit away after taking one bite.
