Reasons why Obito changed his mind

People got irritated when Obito said he did all that because

, but in a sense what he said was the truth, but not exactly like people think it is. In fact, the fact Rin died was more like a great influence which made him change his mind and it's what Obito tried to say.

What made Obito change his mind:

At that moment, Obito probably didn't realised what he was talking about but like Madara says, he will understand one day

you can notice that Obito wasn't interested at all of what Madara was telling him, but quickly reacted when Madara asked him if people were saved because he got wounded(almost died). It was to start to make him realise certain things, to make him realise that the system Shinobi must change, if there are shinobis there will always be war, if there are missions, people will always die or get wounded to save others, if people die because of someone, it brings hatred, etc

And i suppose Obito clearly realised it when Rin died, the hatred he had because of Rin death made him realise that Madara was right and that the system shinobi must change. And it's probably the reason why he accepted to join forces with him, the reason why he accepted to accomplish that project of infinite Tsukuyomi.

So it's not Rins death alone that made him change like people think. It's only that Rins death was the thing that made him realise things he wasn't able to realise before, which made him realise that system Shinobi must change, which made him realise things never happen as you wish, something that made him change his mind, made him accept to start that project along with Madara

I had the similar idea. The old Madara who has lost everything and lives a life of despair he's kinda like that Immortal enemy from Justice League who had killed the JL along with Superman. This old Madara knows almost everything and has experienced everything so his words would have a deep impact on anyone, and this is Obito who will die for a comrade who helps the old from the village so when Madara will ask him the right questions and also what happened with Rin [and others that we don't know of (yet perhaps)] will fuel the Change

Obito values comrades more tjen the system, his appearance as tobi shows this behaviour aswell. He got pissed at konan for betraying them. He got mad at people thinking somene could betray his brothet, he sat down and tried talking with the kages before declaring war etc.

I think he wanted to declare war even before discussing with kages. He said that to Kisame, but i somehow agree with what you're saying
