all started when Kaguya ate the Holly Apple...
kaguya's powers gone to her 2 sons...one of them was called "Hagoromo"..then hagoromo's powers were passed downto his 2 sons, indra and ashura !! ...however one error happned during hagoromo's powers transmition !!!
the younger son ashura didn't inherit shiiitt !!!...while the elder son not only inherited his father's spiritual energy but also he strangely inherited some of his grandmother ,kaguya's energy wich manifested in the following signs :
result : Kaguya is the mother of all uchihas...and her will is the curse of hatred...consequently that will was passed down to her transmigrants : Indra...Madara ..and then Sasuke..
-as opposed to it is the will of fire wich manifested itself within ashura senju hashirama and then naruto...the will of fire is also one of hagoromo's ways to reach wisdom wich culminates in what he calls "Ninshu"...with ninshu the sage was able to defeat juubi....
-the father of senjus who is Ashura didn't inherit any of kaguya's powers...but with hard training a new chakra bloomed in his body..wich is the phisical energy...and it has nothing to do with kaguya's powers...
consequently : kaguya lacked that phisical energy that the senjus had , she somhow feared the senjus..

why did kaguya choose Rikudo Madara as her host..and why she didn't choose obito??..
its becuz Madara had the curse of hatred's will....that's why Madara's rikudo's staff represented indra's curse of hatred
despite obito being the Juubi's jinchuriki kaguya didn't choose him as her host becuz he had the senju's will of fire wich manifested in his rikudo circle staff !!!..
rikudo's circle staff (senju's will of fire) can be used against kaguya to defeat her...it can also be used to resist infinit tsukoyomi ...i believe hagoromo used it to defeat juubi...

-at the same time Madara aknowledged hagoromo's attempts to achieve peace by connecting poeple's chakra through his ninshu...Madara praizes hagoromo and calls him a god!!...BUT SADLY AGAIN poeple instead of following hagoromo's ninshu and connecting their chakra...they misused chakra for their own benifit wich created wars...thats why Madara felt hopelless

-hagoromo tried to use ninshu to creat peace amongst poeple
but again after all these Madara realizes that the mother source of the curse of hatred and all poeple's pain wasn't actually Kaguya BUT IT WAS CHAKRA ITSELF...thats why madara blieves in his famous quote :"as long as there's light there are also shadows..as long as there's peace, there also will be wars".... this quote for madara will be true as long as chackra keeps existing...BUT ONCE CHAKRA DISAPPEARS...there can be infinit peace...so the only way for Madara to finish with chakra is through infinit tsukoyomi... BUT HOW???
-after learning the story of the god tree and kaguya madara might have said to himself : "..WTF??!!...ALL THAT SH*TT HAPPENED OVER AN APPLE??.."....
-so the infinit tsukoyomi might just be phaze one of Madara's reall and whole plan...Madara wanted to get rid of chakra by awakening the god tree and sucking all poeple's chakra...then all that sucked chakra will bloom into a holly apple..then Madara would either get rid of the holy apple by sealing it away or destroy it...or simply consume it and seal/destroy himself along with Juubi and the consumed apple...noone will stand in his way of defeat him becuz he got everyone genjutsued..so he can eat/destroy the apple in peace !
now im not sure if Madara accounted for the possibility of kaguya emerging during the infinit tsukoyomi..im also not sure if Madara will consume the holy apple...but if kishi said during an interview that he doesn't know how to kill Madara that could be a huge sign of Madara tricking kaguya ,eating the holly apple and becoming invincible..
however i also believe that Madara is a man of peace and a true hero..who wants to get rid of the cirlce of hatred...but i hope that he is aware of what he is doing...becuz controlling poeple with genjutsu and eating the holly apple is repeating the same story of kaguya eating the apple thus creating a new cycle of hatred...so i hope that Madara will sacrify himself to destroy the holly apple and kill that Bi**ch kaguya !!
