[Discussion] Reason why Tobi protects Sasuke

Hi,

I always thougt that Tobi protected and helped Sasuke, because he needs his eyes or body in a near future (saving him against Kages, giving him Itachi's eyes etc..)

But in this chapter we discover that Itachi asked Tobi (or Madara idk), to let Sasuke safe ( in order to help him to get revenges on the Uchihas... Nice move because he used this against Danzo AND tobi (did they knew about this, not sure)).

So now, Tobi only protects Sasuke because he promised Itachi ?

Possible or not ?
If not, why would Tobi need Sasuke, any idea ?

doubt it, mainly because he said he would kill sasuke and his team if they tried to leave akatsuki instead of go get the 8 tails.

No he protects sasuke only to use him to destroy the village and help with his plans. Why cause sasuke is an uchiha and is pissed of and dont care about anything other that killing the whole village. He could care less about itachi promise he is using sasuke for his own motives

i think maybe because sasuke is the only uchiha left that hates the leaf (we'll see if he still hates it after the last conversation with itachi) and maybe thats a common factor between tobi and sasuke, just maybe...

tobi has respect for no one...he had a deal with itachi ....itachi died... and now he wants and prabaly is using sasuke just how he did with nagato simple and plain. But now that sasuke saw itachi's memory ... sasuke might not be too thrilled about tobi anymore. considering he also had something to do with it but acting like it was all the leafs fault...he lied to sasuke and sasuke doesnt like liars....lmao

tobi said he will wait a little until he sychs sasuke gedo mazo.

So thats the reason. This also a good way for sasuke to get a powerup to face naruto, as he wont get the rinngean or hasihrama dna.

I think I remember Tobi saying that he only meant to pit Sasuke vs Naruto in order to stimulate him [Sasuke]. (I'm speaking under some severe correction here; not in the mood to search for that scan.) Anyway, its kind of obvious that Tobi wants to help Sasuke develop his eyes. It seems to be a high priority for Tobi. And its looking more and more to me like he wants to help Sasuke naturally evolve his EMS into a Rinnegan. The same way Madara got his Rinnegan.

But the question is, why? He's not using Sasuke to help him in the war. Plus, Tobi already has a pair of Rinnegans. What use could he possibly have for four Rinnegans. The only thing that I can think of is that Tobi doesn't just want Sasuke's eyes. He wants Sasuke's whole body. (I know...that sounds weird:flaw But I have a strong feeling that that Tobi decided to resurrect Madara's soul into Sasuke's body. Its clear that Madara expected to be resurrected using Nagato's Outer Path...but, into what body? The fact that he didn't just have Tobi resurrect him sooner must mean that Madara's corps is/was too fcked-up for that.

If not that then Sasuke might be a descendant of Tobi. A grand or great grand son or something. You know...just spending some time with his favorite great great grand son teaching him some tricks. No strings attached.

Or Sasuke could just be some pet-project or something that Tobi uses to kill some of his boredom.

Or... he just likes corrupting young impressionable minds for shits and giggles.
