The reason as to why people like Naruto Uzumaki are the main characters to shows like Bleach and One piece and Naruto, is because they represent "purity" (not perfection).
See people like Kishimoto, Akira, Kubo, Oda.. have set their characters to be examples to the readers, sure they have some weird traits , for us to be entertained. But the focus of their traits that really affects the whole manga, are unique.
They are always the "goody goodies". And then they have some support characters/ side kicks, who are kind of shaddy and will resort to some stuff that the main character doesn't believe is right.
"Dirty/Shady"
Now some of us have taken the authority to put the title "realistic character" on all the shady characters. And we choose to defend their doings with all sorts of excuses and etc. However, the reason that the authors don't make them the main characters is because it builds a cycle.
Dirty work leads to more dirty work. Danzo and Oro and Itachi and Obito and Madara.. have proven this already. This is why I don't support those characters. Sure you might like their beliefs, but just know that creates a cycle, where there can be no peace.
"Goody Goodies"
Some of us call these characters naive, however that is not true. Naruto has the personality to joke around, because he doesn't want to be serious all the time, however that does not make him naive. Nor does trusting your enemy, make you naive.
People have called Goku naive and unrealistic , because he chooses to sometimes go easy on his opponents. Even though I must admit he kind of does mess up on that sometimes. But that does not make him naive or unrealistic.
Hashirama has now been started to be called Naive , over his younger brother. Why? because he chose to believe that the clan consists of individuals, and its not right to put everyone in the same category, as their ex-leader.
BUT the thing is, if more people were to be like Naruto, Goku, Hashirama, Luffy, Ichigo.. we would have a better world. Simple as that. Good work and mind leads to more good work and mind.
REASON:
Its simply because the authors want to create a better world without the dirty work, which some of us feel is necessary. They want to promote love and respect, and kindness to their readers. That my friends is the reason. And because of that reason, I do not see how you can simply call Naruto Uzumaki a "naive" person.
