We know that Ashura has been reincarnated in Naruto and many have guessed that Hashirama was his earlier reincarnation
So the chain is Ashura -- Hashirama -- Naruto.
And we can confidently say this because Hashirama actually resembles Naruto, even though they shared only few momnets with each other they did the things in similar ways. Their attitude is similar, so are some of their abilities, Torii gates, Sage Mode, Large Chakra etc
Madara only shares some abilities with Sasuke but that means nothing seeing how every shargingan weilder could achieve the same otherwise they have nothing in common their attitudes are very different
Madara acknowledged Hashirama sice they were kids -- Sasuke doesn't acknowledge Naruto even now
Madara walked the path of a lone wolf -- Sasuke never did this, not even once
Madara has a fixed goal and he knows how to achieve it -- Sasuke hasn't had any fix goal till now an his new goal involves doing things Ashura's ways
Obito suits Indra far better than Sasuke ever did, Obito was a lone wolf, Obito took on everything on his own, Obito had a fixed goal since the beginning. Madara also called Obito as "Madara" that says a lot
Also if Sasuke really was Indra's Reincarnation, following would've never happened
No matter what, Indra's newer reincarnation won't oppose his former reincarnation so much so that the former kills him without a second's hesitation! Madara hesitated against Obito, tried to convince Obito till it was too late! However with Sasuke it was over just like that.
Just my two cents on the whole matter.
