I think its time for people to remember why exactly the Uchiha clan tried to plan a revolution and the cause of their ultimate downfall. Their greatest powerful leader, Madara Uchiha, who led them through countless battles, ironically also led to their downfall.

His ideals about revolting during the first foundings of Konoha was the seed to all of this because he thought the Senju were intent on wiping out the Uchiha. Happens when you have an arrogant, power lust and paranoid leader. Albeit the fact that this story was told by Tobi, it doesnt change the fact that Madara did indeed fought Hashirama.

So Tobirama had to manage a way in order to keep the Uchihas in check.

Now some of you may find it that its not enitrely fair that an entire race had to get punished by one guys ideals and actions. But the Uchiha clan were not entirely doing themselves any favours by the following reasons:

- Succumbing into the ideals of Madara as they noticed that they were being kept in check and decided to plan a revolution.

- Uchiha clans absence from the attack of the Fox didnt also exactly helped and ease the tension amongst villagers.

Eventually, Fugaku and other Uchihas would plan a revolution. They were willing to risk a civil war as well as possibly a Shinobi world war (Shisui was sure of this). It couldnt also have been avoided, it seemed the Uchiha were determined to start a revolution as shown through Itachi's parents.

Obviously Tobi would have an important part in all of this but we fully dont know the details regarding his past connection so far. He may have manipulated the Uchiha elders, who knows? U_U

Their number one reason for falling is their pride. But somehow I suspect Tobi had a hand in all this as well. That guy is the catalyst of every huge event ever, so it's not too far fetched to believe he manipulated a few Uchiha.

I highly doubt that Madara just blamed Senju groundlessly. Something definitely happened, imho.

I believe that AT FIRST the Senju were just keeping the Uchiha in check because of what Madara did.

However, as time progressed, they began to take more and more political power. The only way they tried to justify this was to make the Konoha Police Force which worked for quite a while.

When the Uchiha were finally completely segregated because of the Kyuubi attack, they had all the right to be pissed off about what had happened to them. They had no political power and had no change of getting any without providing pressure to the village.

^^ the elder woman says they are trying to take back political power so they'll have to treat them as rebels.
Clearly, this means that they had no intentions of giving Uchiha their political power back, thus they had to act or just become "slaves"
All at the same time, they remembered what Madara had said from the very beginning so they planned the Coup.

Bold: They obviously wouldnt give any political power especially after strong implications that the Uchiha clan were behind the Kyuubi's attack. As I have stated, it didnt exactly favour them because they were nowhere to been seen. I think even Itachi questioned the whereabouts of his parents whilst he was looking after Sasuke.

The whole Uchiha still planing a coup really confuses me. First, they alienated Madara in order to form peace with the village and Senju. They had to abandon Madara in order to do that, then after becoming the village's police force, still a coveted position, some 80 years later they decide they want to take over?? Seems very irrational to me and I think this all comes out of, first Itachi was just a psychopath and everything made sense. Now that he is "good" this whole thing makes no sense, to me at least.

Help me out on this.

After they noticed that the Village was keeping check on them they wanted to rebel but as Tobi said it was too late because Madara was long gone. But I dont think the thought of rebelling vanished it still remained.

It wasnt only until the Kyuubi's attack on the village that the Uchiha clan finally started to make their move of staging a rebellion. Because there were strong implications that the Uchiha clan were behind it.

Dont know if it helped.

Still, peace has been maintained for 80 years, they are the leaders of Konoha's military police force. I don't get it. Suddenly you're being oppressed? None of them held a grudge from the founding they are all the kids of those people. I'm sure they like the village they've lived their whole lives there. The page you provided was written directly after we find out Itachi is "good" so the explanation was very young. I need a better explanation from Kishi sorry it just doesn't really make sense. See what I mean about turning Itachi good has thrown upset to a couple things?

Note another thing: When there was the Kurama attack on Konoha Kurama's eyes were initially sharingan eyes (Denoting that an MS user was controlling him) untill Minato used the contract seal. This factor may have been noticed by the survivors or known by those who knew that MS could control Kurama, which in turn wld have made all higher ups suspicious of Uchiha as there was none alive who had seen Tobi. Yes the Uchiha Clan was wrong but so were the people that alienated them.
