How do you learn to make the reaper death seal (Dead deamon consuming seal)

You die when you perform it, so how can you practice doing it.

I dont think its something you can just do, if you know the hand signs. If that was so, everyone could easily use it. I dont think you need a huge amount of chakra to use it either, 'cause Hiruzen was emptied out when he used it.

Well you do raise a good point, i just went back to chapter #122 to check and couldn't find any mention of whther it would kill or not, but it does say when it is used they have to contribute blood and it kills the user anyway, so with this in mind it doesn't matter if you use it to suck out a soul or not, the user dies anyway!

And surely when a jutsu is made it is researched right? i mean they don't just wave a few hand signs together and make a jutsu on the spot right!? It takes time and preperation to make a jutsu, so knowing that the Shiku fuuin jutsu probably was documented well with the hand signs so people could use in an Emergency when all hope was lost, to protect the village etc!

And seeing as how Sandaime was a master of techniques and Yondaiime was a prodigy, doesn't that mean they didn't need to practise, they'd get it right first time!

I dont think you can. Hiruzen however had never performed before he sais, when he uses it vs Oro and the 1st and 2nd. He only knew about it from Minato

You cant use shadow clones either, cause the the seal seals your soul, which i also present in you shadow clones. Its true that Hiruzen uses shadow clones, but that is for the end result. You cant use it to practice, cause that would seal you aswell

Ummm you said it they have to know the hand signs.... Which I'm sure the few people who learned it (somehow) know what it can do and wouldn't teach it to anyone. Also what is there to practice. the Demon does the sealing and all.. you just have to use your speed and intelligence to figure out a way to reach your opponent and hold on to him, the cutting the soul part is done by the Reaper, therefore sealing the person .

i thought you only die when you seal something. so if you use it and dont seal anything you would not die.

i wouldnt think shadow clones, becasue if you seal a shadow clone you are still sealing yourself. if you could use them then Hiruzen would just have to make 3 then he wouldnt have died.

Hmm good question,if there was any documentation of it in scrolls,it means the first user must have not died straight away,or maybe he didnt die at all,maybe there is a way to avoid dieing but its just too extreme,either way how hiruzen came to know it is a mystery since we all knw minato died shortly after prefoming it.

Well i think seals are developed and learned through research and not practice (like regular ninjutsu) i say this because they work different from ninjutsu or everything else... i mean you just have to know the right handseals, or formula and have the chakra to perform it, i don't think it is more to it than this...
And i think it's most likely that you learn if from a scroll...
The reason why we don't see every ninja running around with sealing jutsu is because they are too powerful to be used randomly. Remember that the Uzumaki clan (best seal users) were wiped because they were feared for those sealing jutsu they possessed.
