Reaper Death Seal Question

Hey guys I have a question concerning the RDS. As we all know, once the RDS is cast, the user will eventually be sealed when the sealing is done.

However, what happens if you die before the sealing is complete? The medium used for the reaper death seal becomes obsolete? (ie the body in question). Does that mean if by some chance, the Kyuubi had killed Minato before the sealing was finished, could it be possible that his soul is released or does the soul remain with the death god and the user gets trapped anyways (even if he dies before the sealing is complete)? Just a thought, what do you guys think?

Then you end up like Hiruzen. It will end up in a partial sealing. Hiruzen died in the process of sealing oro so he only sealed his arms

I'm not sure what happens to the intended victim of RDS, but the user's soul is under the hold of the Reaper, once the jutsu is activated, so presumably the user gets sealed if they are killed.

If you die, it just takes what you have taken so far and your soul, i suppose.

I think hiruzen died after the sealing was complete, therefore it just acts like the regular jutsu. What happens if he died before, while the jutsu had been activated?

I think even if the user dies before the seal is complete, his soul will still be taking by the death god.

it will seal a part of them, reaper death seal is meant for sealing there souls

The Reaper has your soul as soon as you start the jutsu. So even if you die before you get to seal your target then your soul still gets taken.
