But let's face it, the "next generation surpassing the old" seems like a load of crap; Hashirama is the strongest Hokage, "Prime Hiruzen" being the unknown variable. The Sandaime Raikage is stronger than Yondaime. There are a few exceptions namely Naruto surpassing Minato, Kushina, and Jiraiya, etc

Hashirama and Madara are older though, and have more experience with their powers. So yes, Hashi or Mads would beat pre hagaromo powered Naruto/sasuke. However, I believe that EMS Sasuke and BSM naruto(pre hagaromo powerup for both) are powerful than Hashirama and Madara were at the same age, and would eventually have surpassed them regardless of whether they received Hagaromo's blessings or not.

Agreed. Especially with Kishi's newer generation surpassing the elder thing. I'm fairly certain that they'd wreck Hashi and Mada, when they reach their age, but it won't be easy.
