Nothing but generalization here. Yeah most singers and groups suck now-a-days, but not all. And rap now-a-days does mostly suck, but there are still some people who are good and rap about relevant things, not just money, girls, and cars. Immortal Technique for example, and Chamillionaire. (Though he does have some songs about money, not as much as Lil (Hwack)Wayne, Drake, blah blah...)

OT: Music isn't really 'real' or 'unreal'. Each band is creating music in their own way. Just because you may not prefer a band, doesn't mean it's bad. There may not be as much talent involved in creating and performing the music but creating a hit song still requires effort by the lyricist, performer, and instrumentalists. Once you get out of high school you'll realize there's more to life than comparing your taste of music with other's tastes.
