For one the monkey king Son Wukong aka Son Goku is used twice first as a basis for Monkey King Enma and second for Son Goku the 5 tails.

Another thing is the whole false prophet plot line is reused basically like 3 times first for Pain, second with Obito, and lastly with Madara.

Orochimaru tempting Sasuke with the power of the curse seal in the Forest of Death could be seen as a reference to Genesis and the Garden of Eden especially with Orochimaru being a serpent (who was cast out of Konoha (Heaven) and eventually gets his limbs taken by Hiruzen aka the "God" of Shinobi). But then you have Kaguya who literally ate a forbidden fruit from the God Tree and was eventually punished for it, and Black Zetsu acts similar to the serpent as well.

While not a repeated reference, it's interesting to note the 10 tailed beast is clearly a reference to the 10 horned beast in Revelations. And Naruto's sun symbolism and glowing appearance in Kyuubi Chakra mode is probably a reference to how Jesus arrives "glowing like the sun" in Revelations.

yeah that seem to be obvious.

most successful stories, or at least in Naruto's case it is famous, have always been influenced by religion may it be western or eastern.

it is our fascination for godly things is what makes us bound to the story.
mainly it is our ego that compels us to keep following it.
to find out whether or not someone can attain godhood or outsmart the devil.

really it is anything that puts humankind above divinity.
may it be overcoming gods or machinery or perhaps nature itself such as death.
