While we don't know the reason behind Kakashi killing Rin yet, does it seem really pathetic that a guy stuck in the friend zone (if that's part of the reason he's angry) goes from being what seemed to be one of the most genuinely nice Uchiha to an extreme scum bag (I think he's more scum than Itachi and that's saying something).

Was this among Kishi's most ridiculous (figurative) Ass Pulls (I feel the "Nagato got the Rinnegan from Madara" is another one even though there are instances that may have foreshadowed that plot twist)?

Also, the infamous Obito quote, "Those who break the rules are trash[also seen "garbage" and "scum" put here], but those who abandon their comrades are worse than trash!"

I love how this should be the motto of so many Uchiha (Don't get me started on how much of scumbag I find Itachi to be.

While I do see the similarities of Obito and Anakin Skywalker, Obito seems to have succumbed to the Dark Side in a matter of hours/days from Rin's death whereas Anakin, as implied in Episode II, had years to become evil.

It was not only Rin's death but Madara's extremely negative influence. Anyone can handle the death of a friend or family member, but having that happen in correlation to being isolated with someone like Madara who kept spouting off the same emo complaints and negative emotions all the time would get to someone. I still don't understand how people can't accept this as fact....

I'm think it's perfectly acceptable. Some people do a lot worse for less. Like certain akutsaki members.

Let's be honest; Obito built his life around his friends. Then one day, bam; he gets half his body torn off. He should be dead, instead he comes back crippled and with supposedly no way out. Mr. Optimistic doesn't let up. He keeps working, hard, every day to see his friends again. When he gets out, he finally sees them...as one of them is killing the other one. His favorite. You don't need to rationalize it. Humans are emotional, irrational beings. When his entire world got shattered not once but TWICE, he went over the edge. The dream that Madara fed him was the only chance in his mind to ever be happy again. Long story shortly summarized, he went crazy after seeing Rin die and is completely convinced his only hope it the Moon's Eye plan.
