I think eventually Suigetsu could gain the strength needed to take the Mitzukage position because lets be real he'd destroy Chojuro, hell Suigetsu has clashed with: Killer Bee, Darui, Jugo, Cee, Kisame, Gurugaru(Spiral Zetsu)

This in turn will not only turn Suigetsu into the same mastery of his brother Mangetsu Hozuki who he looks up to and respects but he will in turn become the 7 swordsmen of the mist.

The manga is almost done, there's no need for him to get a power up, it's a nice one though.

Mizukage? Nah- he doesn't even associate with the Mist.

The only thing he wants and the only thing he needs is Mangetsu's scroll. Looking at the finality and pace of this arc though if Suigetsu gets any powerup at this point though he'll likely just snatch Samehada at some point.
