But it's placement in the story was not. We had never heard of it and we will never see it used again. It was the 'Beat Kabuto no Jutsu' and that's blatantly bad storytelling. A better end would've been Itachi to wear down Kabuto of his chakra and turn him into a mess, in his rage he summons all of his remaining edo tensei from the battlefield to defeat Itachi and his jutsu is coming undone, and they all break free and turn against him- ending the edo tensei and the spirits go free.

I would've preferred that ending much more, much neater.

weve seen izanami several times in this series. itachis version is simply a weaker form of narutos talk no jutsu.

What people don't understand is there is a difference between "Izanami being introduced in the story" and "Izanami being the one technique (owned by a non-Izanagi user) taking down one of the major villains of the war".

Izanami could do nothing but prevent the use of Izanagi and it would still make sense because "it was introduced in the story".

Its not the existence of the technique, its the effect it has on the story thats a problem.
