After reading this comment I thought I'd make a thread to see what everybody on this lovely base thought of it.

So, can Katon beat Rasenshuriken and protect the user?

Katon on Madara's scale takes a dump on Rasenshuriken. Sasuke's however, I doubt it. But I'm not too sure.

The FRS is an 'S' rank Fuuton. So logically an 'S' rank Katon can counter it.

Not enough proof. Rasenshuriken is mainly the rasengan which doesn't have an element therefore the jutsu doesn't get effected by Katon. That's my logic.

That's not how it works. FRS is Rasengan with Wind Chakra added to it thus making it a Wind Element Jutsu. Thus Katon becomes its weakness.

The Fuuton is weak against the Katon. And the RS is a Fuuton based attack. It doesn't matter how strong is, a Katon on the same caliber can negate it.

Rasen Shuriken is sure a wind type jutsu even if its otigin is rasengan.

Elemental Ninjutsu beats Normal Ninjutsu.
Madara's Katon is extremely powerful, but FRS is aswell.
They cancel eachother out.

Rasenshuriken isn't Ninjutsu anymore, it's Elemental.

The rasenshuriken is described as being more of a poison than anything else. The frequency and quantity of each blade needs to be assessed.

So, only the most powerful of katon users should able to outright block or stop it. At least that's what I think...

I'm thinking only a Rasengan with fire element on it would be useful against Rasenshuriken.
