Rap battle training

Yea can someone help/train me in a rap battle so well I will start it off but I need a little help with how I rap because I keep on loosing

:sy: For starters, grammar. (seriously, it's not hard to at least try in that respect, today's forecast seems to be cloudy with a chance of dangling participles.)

Next, you want to think of something that either builds youself up, or tears down someone else...preferably at the same time. It needs to rhyme at some point, but not everything has to all the time. Also, it really needs to be clever; best example I have of that right now is Biggie:

What's beef? Beef is when I see you.
Guaranteed to be an I.C.U.

This^ is great because it built him up, tore down whoever he's beefin' with, plus it's very clever.

For me, a rap has to keep rythm. Try to get a beat in your head and write rhymes that match it.

Dont make 3 word lines. They are just sad and they have no rythm

heres an example:

yo, stupid ho.
you wanna go?
I'm the best
and you'll detest
I'm better than the rest

now compare that with this:
you should shut your mouth, cause I only hear noise
you cant handle my swag, go call your boys
See I gleam like the sun, you're dull as can be
You think that you'll win? you can't even see me.
you think that you can but thats just an illusion
I've got the power of two with my lyrical fusion

Obviously the second one is better.

also, avoid hard to rhyme words. If you absolutely have to use them, re-arrange your rhyme so it ends with a different word and the hard-to-rhyme word is in the body of the line.

Listen to rappers.. go on YouTube and watch real battle rappers.. if you want to be good you have to know what's good and listen to who's good. Take inspiration to those who's good and you can even try to emulate and imitate them just to get started off but do not DO NOT completely copy anybody or bite off rhymes or copy raps word for word.. part of being a rapper is being unique and different. Do and say something nobody else has never quite said or did in the same manner..

It's all harder said then done but if you look at each the rappers that are considered the best you will see that they are unique in their own rights
