[Theory] Rant: Posting in the wrong section.

Don't you all hate it when somebody reminds somebody that they posted in the wrong section? Especially when they don't contribute to the thread and forget the fact mods will take care of the issue?

A better way to deal with someone posting in the wrong section is to:
1.PM the noobie to make them aware of their error so they can learn from their mistakes
2. Adress a member of staff so that the thread can be moved
3. Contribute to the thread or don't say anything at all

It really annoys me when people say "wrong section". WHO CARES!? What can you do about it? Increase your post count? Pretty much it...

I deliberately posted in the wrong section to test just how many people on this base will try to "false mod".

Anyone else get annoyed by members who only post "wrong section"? I know they're trying to help but why waste a post? PM the OP and a mod instead.

OT: Yes I do hate it. It's a complete waste of a post, if it is that serious to a user, just report it to a mod and they will move it. It's that simple. On another note, sometimes I purposely post in the wrong section. Some threads I post in general discussion will get moved to chatterbox and you can't see threads like those on today's topics. If you post the wrong thread in the Naruto Discussion thread, it takes a while before a mod will move it if they move it at all so I purposely post there sometimes

I agree that people post it too much, but it's human nature to either show the way in obvious ways, or insult via acting smug. But this is a bit blatant. It may be necessary, but it's still a bit too "In your face", but I aprove...

Tbh, I don't care at all about that. I can understand, why there are sections etc., but idc if it's right or wrong section. It isn't "bad" for anyone but the one who started the thread, as he wont reach the right people. I don't think your just as incorrect post will make any difference, even if you say it's on purpose and post valid reasons. To me it doesn't matter where it is, if it's interesting I might read and reply, if not, well I wont. Can't speak for others though.. Some just want post count, leave them be.

Anyways, I agree with you generally. When I see a thread in a wrong section, I make note of it and answer the question the OP asks.
