I haven't watched Hunter X Hunter but I really like Zoro and Sasuke, equally.

DBZ is garbage and Mikasa is probably the worst anime character of all time. (I'd also suggest Alphonse & Blackstar as good suggestions)

I suggest you be more open to people's opinions. There are so many better anime around and yet people tend to cling onto the past, it's ridiculous. I'm grateful for the influence it's given current japanese media but the show itself is bad.
