So for a while the Naruto series has had what I thought were a lot of Star Wars references. Hear me out before you judge my prediction. A lot of this is about how the situation is exactly like Star Wars. Sometimes the characters change who they represent so it is not like Darth Vader is the exact same as Sasuke or anything like that.
I predict that Obito is going to end up betraying Madara for the sake of Naruto and will end up getting harmed beyond repair \ die from wounds that Madara gives him.
My reasoning.
I have been noticing how the current villains act like the Sith.
First you have Madara \ Emperor
He was a man who can be considered on the "dark" path. So was the ruler of the sith. Madara was the leader of his people until everyone got together and made a democracy. So was the ruler of the sith. Madara got mad and wanted more power and to become the supreme leader of his land. So he starts to take over the known areas and then is attacked by the "light" side. The same thing happens to the leader of the sith. Madara is thought to be dead and people forget about him. During this time of being everyone forgets about him then gets a few apprentices and trains them to help him take over the universe. This is the exact same story for the sith in Star Wars.
So while this is happening there is a story of a boy who will become the next destiny child. In Star Wars Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon think this is going to be Anakin. A.k.a. Darth Vader. In Naruto, our sage teacher representing Qui-Gon Jinn, Jiraiya makes a prediction that it will be Nagato. Kishi however splits it here and then uses two apprentices to represent Darth Vader.
One being Nagato and the other being Obito. They both have parts that make them equal to Darth Vader. Darth Vader only fully trusts the new lord of the sith once his wife dies and he is not able to save her. Obito only trusts Madara after the love of his life dies which he can not save. Nagato only trusts "Tobi", who at the time was representative and thought of as Madara, after his best friend dies. So you can see how both of Madara's apprentices represent Darth Vader.
Anyway our story continues.
So our sage dies. Qui-Gon Jinn dies to the apprentice of the dark lord and Jiraiya dies to the apprentice of Madara. After this it is determined in both stories that the person thought to be the apprentice who turned evil was not really the person of legend but is from the generation AFTER the current one. Thus it was not Darth Vader, but his son. And thus it was not Nagato, but Naruto.
Anyway after the newest person tries to use talk-no-jutsu to the evil apprentice, he gets hurt badly. And then is taught a lesson in power by the evil side. This is when the emperor uses his lightning to show that power is great when you join the dark side. And can be seen when Nagato uses his paths of pein to destroy Konoha. At this time Nagato still believes in Madara's plan.
After a quick beat down the dark apprentice then decides to sacrifice his life because the new child of legend and goody goody uses another talk-no-jutsu. This is when Darth Vader decides to throw the emperor over a cliff even though it will cost him his life. And when Nagato decides to bring everyone back to life even though it will cost him his life. This is only after the "dark" side sees the light. Thus you have Darth Vader hearing his son say he was proud of him and that he was still a Jedi. And Nagato says that he can see the peace that Naruto was talking about. Then boom, dead.
So after witnessing that I believe that Obito is going to take the same turn as Nagato and Darth Vader. He is destined for it. Naruto is going to get his ass handed to him by Madara and only after Naruto uses talk-no-jutsu one last time Obito will come around and realize that it cost too much to be "dark" and join the "light" side one last time before he dies trying to stop the evil lord.
Darth Vader also only fully joined the dark side because he wanted a way to keep his friends and love alive. He was sad at the death of his love and it forced him to chose the path of the "dark" side until the real child of destiny used talk-no-jutsu and changed him back to the "light" side. Sound like Obito at all?
So what do you think?
