But for now, tell me all you know about Lightning release, it's weaknesses, strengths, what it can be combined with and whatever else you know about it. Please be as descriptive as you can!

Okay, as we go, I'll need you to go into more detail.
Lightning can be used alongside Water so that the water is electrified, making it more dangerous. It can also be used with weapons to give them a greater cutting power and sometimes it can be used to paralyse an opponent (depending on the jutsu used)
It's weak to wind because wind is a natural insulator and it can easily deteriorate the lightning, it's strong against Earth because it has the power to pierce through Earth or make it crumble away.

Since you're knew, I'll assume you don't know how the rankings work so here:

A-rank Lightning = S-rank Earth.
A-rank Lightning > A-rank Earth and it'd continue towards the opponent at a weakened rank of B.

So for an Earth jutsu to cancel out a Lightning jutsu, it must be one rank higher.

As for weakness:

A-rank Wind = S-rank Lightning.
A-rank Wind > A-rank Lightning.

Lightning is not strong nor weak against Water and Fire, and so, using lightning wouldn't be a valid way of defending against a Fire or water jutsu, since it'd go straight through it. (and the water would get electrocuted, doing you more damage)

Of course, this doesn't mean Lightning can't be used in a combination with both Fire and Water.
Can you tell me why it'd be useful to use Lightning along side Fire? Or how it'd be used alongside fire?

as sasuke has done before, a strong fire technique shot into the sky can create thunderclouds, drawing real lightning in for use, but if it were to be used alongside fire then, maybe you can use grand fireball jutsu as a distraction while charging up with a chidori, or if you are up against a doton user, then using a raiton technique could make way for a dragon flame jutsu.

The shooting a fireball into the clouds in preparation for Kirin is one way fire can be used, but it wasn't what I had in mind.

I was thinking something along the lines of, using a fire jutsu and since the opponent can't see you due to the fire heading towards him, you can shoot a lightning jutsu through the fire. Most people defend with water, and the lightning would be able to electrocute that water and do more damage, so you'd have to be careful it's not used against you.

yes sir lol. sorry i was so confused as to how to train. also, for example i used a grand fireball jutsu, then most likely the opponent would use the waterwall technique, then i would throw a lightning chakra infused kunai in the water wall electrocuting the user. or if the opponent counters the fireball with a suiryuudan or water dragon jutsu, then cut through it with a chidori.

Just be sure to follow my instructions and be as detailed as possible about everything you do.

Alright now we'll start.

*Makes a small Lightning bolt*

Now, meditate around the lightning and feel it's energy and brute strength, concentrate on it and try to call out your own lightning chakra and create your own small bolt next to it.

*sits under a tree with shade. goes into lotus position and concentrates. gathering and focusing lightning chakra into both hands. feels temperature rising in palms... makes a smaller version of Erzo Sensei's lightning bolt glowing*

Nope, I'd expect something like this:

''I go sit down on the ground close my eye and start meditating. I clear off mind of each and every thought and concentrate on the lightning bolt. As I concentrate, I start feeling its power and its vibrations. I feel its effects all over my body. I feel the cells in my body reacting to it. As I feel it, I start gathering all my lightning chakra into my body which I focus it to my palms. Then, suddenly I make a lightning bolt by moulding my raw lightening chakra to shape it as one of yours.''

Okay? I'll move on this time, but for future, something like that would be cool. ^^

Now, I want you to manipulate your lightning chakra further and channel it into your palms, once you've done that, slam your hand down onto the ground and release the chakra, once you've released it into the ground, manipulate it so that it travels into the area beneath my feet and shocks my clone mildly

Straight after doing that, don't hesitate and and use that same chakra to cover your body. With this you'll have your body covered with an electric field, and with that electric field covering your body, run at my clone and punch/kick him however you like. Describe this as if it was a freeform fight, free form is basically just describing how you hit the opponent, where you hit them, with what part of your body, etc etc. You can be as adventurous as you like.

*i stand up slowly trying to maintain the lightning chakra in the palms of my hands. then i slam both palms down into the ground creating a mini shockwave around my hands. i then channel the chakra through the ground guiding to the feet of the clone giving it a minor shock. Now using the previous training i spread the lightning chakra around my body feeling vibrations of it as it spreads. i run shakily due to not being used to the lightning chakra and jump up into the air performing an axe kick hitting the clone on the shoulder. I can feel the lightning chakra surrounding me zapping onto the clone. i stand up waiting for further instruction*

Now, concentrate your lightning chakra once again, but gather it all at one point (fist, foot, your choice), making a compressed ball of lightning. Once you've done that, I want you to once again run at my clone and deal a blow to his body whilst releasing that compressed lightning orb making it so that it explodes outwards and damages my clone.

After doing that, I want you to quickly send another quick bolt of lightning at my clone who would be blown back due to the explosion caused by the first jutsu.

I want to do the last part again, quickly. I want you to concentrate on your lightning chakra and once you've gathered it, channel it all to your dominant hand. From your dominant hand, I then want you to release it as a quick wave of lightning which bolts forwards, hitting my clone.

Now for the next jutsu, just do what I asked you earlier (the shooting out bolts of lightning from your hand) but I want you to gather a larger amount of chakra and release it as bolts of lightning, so that the jutsu does more damage. You can use this jutsu to simply to shock an opponent or to send a powerful stream of lightning which is capable of ripping through solid rock.

We'll do this as if we're in a battle, so I want you first send a powerful surge of lightning which rips through my first attack, then once you've done that, I want you to create an orb of Lightning on your hand (like earlier) but instead of smashing it into me, I want you to throw it, so that it can reach a further distance.

Let's give this a go.

Now, this is (once again) similar to another jutsu we've already done, so I want you to surround your body with an electric field which acts as a defensive measure, protecting you from B-ranked and below Earth jutsus (depends on which jutsus, since some are not full on attacks and some are muddy substances), so I'll use spikes against you and see if you can protect yourself by covering every inch of your body in an armour of electricity.

I concentrate as i spread lightning chakra throughout my body paying attention to the glow that it gives to my body. i release the chakra making a force field on my body. suddenly spike come from out of nowhere but the force field stop it right in it's track and even bending the tips.
