In the beginning, there was light. That’s what many of the old books say. Many say that there was a large explosion that shook the universe, or that it only took a week to create the planet we were born into. But all they are, are stories. Stories from an old world that lived in the light. But now, all there is around us is darkness.
There isn’t much of the world, from long ago. All we know is of a huge war that consumed all of the Earth, the fourth of its kind. Whether it was nuclear or not, we don’t know; it’s been erased from our racial memory. All we have left is books, a type of recording method from the old world. We assume that, well, they assume that the old world only recorded with books, but I think differently. Because I can remember. I remember boxes, filled with lightning, which could connect to other boxes using wires. And large carts powered by fire, not animals. It was like magic, but they called it science. And I used to talk of science, of the old world, until they captured me, and kept me quiet. This dark world we live in, it was forced into darkness, without consent. And I can help. I can bring it back, if you would let me
You. You can help me. You uncovered my capsule, decoded it, and now know thing that you shouldn’t. Now, you have a choice: to live in the light, or die in the darkness. Those were my choices, though I have yet to make one. And I can’t make one, until I am free. Please free me Hero of the light, and help me brighten this world.
All I can provide for you from this distance between us is in the locker. It has weapons and armor scraped together with old world knowledge, some items that could be handy, and tool that has any number of uses. Its name is Biometric Enhanced Reconnaissance and Rescue Interface, for that is what it does: it helps with Recon and Rescue, or staying hidden and finding what is hidden. I like to call it BERRI for short. I’m not sure which version is in the locker, but I left a list in there to help. Any version will keep you safe and will help you find me, and any others who know as much as you. Please make use of it.

This is the RAIN RP, a free-roam role play based upon Earth in the distant future. Weapons used in this role play are mostly medieval, such as arrows or swords. However, as the roleplay progresses, new technology will be available, new weapons will be available, and even new BERRIs will be available to exchange. Consider the BERRI like an Omni-tool or a PIP-Boy from Mass Effect and Fallout respectively. This world, this role play, will be lightly moderated and hopefully will be easy to role play in. Places, tasks, and quests will be created by the players. however, the grand quest will be the main objective and quest markers will be created as the role play moves along.

BERRI types:
STRAAW: Strength-Trained, Resistance-Augmenting Artillery Wrist-shield. This BERRI type is for personal defense and augments offensive capabilities. Through nano-circuits and small projectors, the STRAAW-BERRI is able to project a shield around the defending arm, much like that of knights from long ago. Small injections of nanobots increase the strength of the individual, allowing for stronger hits and higher durability than a regular hero. Class: Med-Defensive and Med-Offensive
BLAC: Broadcast and Landscape Assessment Calculator. This BERRI type is for intelligence gathering. With high powered processing capabilities and long range proximity sensors, this BERRI is able to pick up and assess all sounds within a fifty yard radius, giving the user 360 degrees of radar. By processing data in battle, the BLAC-BERRI is able to predict actions used by an enemy better the longer a battle progresses. This type can also pick-up broadcasts from farther away than any other type, giving its user more accurate readings on the position of other heroes. Class: High-Technology.
BLUE: Background Laquearium with Utility Emulation. This BERRI type is for going unseen. Using high powered projectors, the BLUE-BERRI is able to surround the wearer with nano-panels that can blend in with the surrounds, leaving the wearer almost invisible. This type is also able to increase the users grip using an injection of nano-bots, making the skin on their hands create a natural adhesive, allowing them to climb walls. The BLUE-BERRI is also able to launch a chord tipped with a hook with uses only limited by the ingenuity of the wielder. Class: Med-Defensive and Med-Technology
SNOW: Sonic kNockback and Optical Warfare. This type is mainly used for large scale sabotage or full-scale battle. By using high frequency emitters, the SNOW-BERRI is able to set of sonic booms and bright flashes, confusing and incapacitating enemies, even causing property damage and foundation damage to buildings. Class: High-Offensive
KRAN: Kinesthetic Regenerator with Administrative Neural-transmitters. This type is used for medical treatment on the battle. Through an injection of mitotic-cycle enhancers, the KRAN-BERRI increases the regeneration of cells in the user’s body. And by using Neural-transmitters, the regeneration can be passed onto allies within a twenty yard radius, though not as potent as the user’s. Class: High-Medical
ELDIR: Electromagnetic Logic Database with Incinerate Receptacle. This type is used as information storage. Through an injection of twelve different amino acids, the user is able to absorb information with an almost insatiable hunger. With the mind attaining processing power equal to a super computer, languages are comprehended easily and almost downloaded instantly. In order to protect the information, the ELDIR-BERRI is able to incinerate enemies with on-board flamethrowers. Class: Med-Technology and Med-Offensive
