Raikiri is the same as Chidori

Original name is chidori, but when Kakashi cut a lightning with it, the technique got another name, which is raikiri.

Because raikiri and chidori has the same bases. handseals doesn't make chidori an S rank jutsu.Furthermore handseals aren't necessary .

But aren't they both still rasengans? Yeah Minato's may have had the more chakra in it but it was still a rasengan. The only difference we actually know of is the Kakashi cut a lightning bolt with his. So if Sasuke cuts a lightening bolt with his chidori then what separates the 2?

It's not the same. Raikiri is a more concentrated Chidori.

Chidori is an A-rank jutsu, when Raikiri is more powerful and more concentrated. It's an S-rank jutsu. Kishimoto stated that in his databook. Raikiri cut almost everything even lightning. Chidori can't do that.

Ok, in dubbed versions, Sasuke says 'Lighting Blade'
in the same episode in Japanese, Sasuke says 'Chidori'
in the manga, they say 'Raikiri'

No, In dubbed Sasuke say "Chidori" as well.

Deidara called it Lightning Blade, and Sasuke said he prefer "Chidori".


Shikamaru say "Shadow Possession Jutsu" and his Dad call it "Shadow Paralysis Jutsu"
It's the same thing.
