Racism is the discrimination based on race. I find it funny how you people assume it only happens towards people with darker skin—the "different" race, isn't it? You're wrong. I moved to Africa from Europe when I was little, and it didn't matter to them that I was partly african. I had a lighter skin tone, thus I couldn't and shouldn't belong. I was part of the minority. They held hatred and repugnance against me throughtout my childhood and adolescence, for something so nonsensical and absurd like the lack of melanin. Despite having grown up in such an environment, I'm not prejudiced in any way. I believe the world would be no fun without diversity, but is acceptance really too much to ask? Racism does still exist and has many, many shapes and forms.
