So Lightning as I understand it?
Let's start simple with some general knowledge... or maybe I should ask you what you know? I'll do that xD
Tell me what you know of Lightning, how it relates to the other four elements (strengths and weaknesses included), some KG that it makes up and a few well known lightning users.

Ok then, Yosh...Raiton is one of the basic 5 elemental nature transformations.It allows user to generate lighting by increasing the high frequency vibrations of their chakra, allowing for piercing damage and fast movement. Electricity can paralyse target so it is good to use before last hitting. Also Lighting can be infused in weapons through chakra flow. Lightning Release is common to the ninja of Kumogakure, lightning the quickest, seemingly vicious and non-temperamental of all the basic five elements. Now there are two forms of lightning within Narutoverse, lightning formed from chakra and natural lightning. The difference between the two is sheerly because lightning formed from nature is quick seemingly denser and more heated. The process for natural lighting is more concentrated and potent when it comes to how it's formed than the way it is lightning/raiton is formed from the body. Raiton is a sharp, vibrative and piercing element, which also adds energy, speed, oscillation rate and increases an objects "sharpness" in various combination states. This is clearly displayed in sound release as lighting is used to increase the oscillations of the air particles as a medium to amplify and catalyse the sound produced,manipulated and released. Now lightning is a very difficult element to manipulate once released and does not flow and bend its users will like for example the fluid element suiton/water. Now lightning formed through chakra uses the conceptual components of lightning intensity,sharpness,subtle yet furious vibrations and energy. The chakra within ones body when focused uses these components in concentrated manner forming raiton. Lightning isn't a very versatile element and doesn't have multiple release forms but, is more of a counteractive and offensive element than a defensive one. Lighting is strong against earth because it can travel trough it and also reak it. But lighting is bad against wind because wind is natural insulator of lighting.Also lighting is strong against crystal,ice,scorch,shadows,bugs,blast,sand(seen in Gara vs Sasuke fight),Shikotsumyaku,Lava,wood and weak to storm,dark release,papers. Also water can incrase the power of lighting it is also much more powerful when natural lighting is used(Sasuke vs Itachi fight) when Sasuke first used fire tecnique to make thunderclouds so he can use natural lighting. Kekkei genkai is Storm release which is mix of Lighting and water. There is also Black lighting wich is known by only 3th Raikage and Darui.
Some of the famous users of lightning might be
1. Kakashi
2. Sasuke
3. 4th Raikage

Well done, since you're theoretical knowledge of Raiton is pretty vast but... Could you hold out your hands as if you where were holding some water you had just scooped up?

As i stretch out my hands in a way as i'm about to scoop water (even though irl the water falls back down everytime :|) as my sensei pours water in my hand just as he discharged a bolt of lightning from the poured water-

Yes, lightning does work very well with water... another aspect you missed is that lightning spread quite rapidly throughout the water and delivers quite a kick... I just wanted to shock you before we start .__.
So by the very nature of lightning, it wants to take the quickest route to the ground while also seemingly wanting to go any which way it pleases prior to striking something. Using your chakra, you have to force your lighting jutsu to do what you want and to go where you want it to go, requiring a bit of concentration and awareness about lightning's 'lazy' nature. Also, letting up your concentration will get you killed... just a heads up xD

As i hear my Sensei's intructions i begin gathering chakra. When i have gathered enough chakra on my palms, I convert the chakra, molding and compressing the chakra to Raiton chakra. I then, concentrating on power and control, channel chakra to my right hand while increasing the vibratory rates of my chakra. Forming bolts of lightning.
(I don't think i can add more detail to this one as its so easy :|)

Very good, your first lightning jutsu. Just remember you can always add more detail, mainly around the shaping of the raw chakra into elemental chakra.

Alright lets continue. The next technique is simple, so what I want you to do is to gather chakra in your dominant hand. Once you've done that I want you to slam your hand on the ground, as your hand makes contact with the ground release your chakra as a surge of lightning which travels across the ground. Direct the surge of lightning at my clone, if you do this correctly the lightning should shock my clone's feet, stopping him from running towards you.

I begin by focusing my chakra to my right hand. Once I've focused a sufficient amount of energy into my right hand, that the lightning is made visible, I slam my hand on the ground, releasing the raiton chakra into the earth sending a surge of lightning quickly that races across the ground and towards the clone that's heading towards my direction as the surge of lightning reaches the clone it shocks the clone stopping him from running towards me.
I begin by focusing my chakra to my right hand. Once I've focused a sufficient amount of energy into my right hand, that the lightning is made visible, I slam my hand on the ground, releasing the raiton chakra into the earth sending a surge of lightning quickly that races across the ground and towards the clone that's heading towards my direction as the surge of lightning reaches the clone it shocks the clone stopping him from running towards me.

For the next technique I want you to gather chakra which you will release as an electric field shield . Once the lightning shield is covering your body I want you to strike my clone with it. Pretty simple right?

I start by gathering chakra into my hand once i have gathered enough chakra i use nature manipulation to convert it into lightning and then release it in front of me as a shield, once the shield is covering my whole body i manipulate the lightning shield in front of me and manipulate it to hit the clone standing not to far from me.
Pretty easy.

Good. Now much like the previous jutsu, I want you to do the same thing but once you've created the electric field shield I want you to release it towards my clone. When it makes contact with the clone it should explode and it should be able to blow back my clone which will attempt to stab you with his sword.
