So today the news on the passing of Maya Angelou was confirmed...It said that she was suffering from a heart condition and she was hospitalized for a couple of days, and therefore wasn't able to attend a seminar. It said that she was also finishing her new book as well. She died at age 86 years old. She was an amazing women, poet, civil activist as well as a good friend...please lets all give a moment of silence to Mrs. Maya Angelou.......

Maya Angelou was an inspiration to all with her powerful poetic words, she endured a lot during her time as well. Makes me proud to be black. :)

Yea I was sleep all day so I got the news late too. I thought someone was lying at first

R.I.P. I remember reading "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings" in 9th grade. Even tho it was schoolwork, I'm extremely grateful I got a chance to read it. Great literature. She was a true inspiration

Amen to that I feel proud being black as well. She fought for our civil rights not with force but with her words, you know that old saying " The Pen Is Mighter Than The Sword" (Sorry for missed spelling)

Yes, there really aren't women like her anymore. Now it's a whole different breed.

Not enough "phenomenal women", too many "thot ass bust my legs open for baby daddy Tyrone and his potna Kendrick at the same damn time ass hoes"
