New Minato isn't a failure okay.. He just has 1 arm now. He still has been doing good.
Tobirama is just the man in Kishi's arsenal now because he wants to give him his moments.
That's why Sarutobi is out of the picture because he is also no slouch. Minato alive all he did was the same stuff EDO Minato did. He fought OBITO (same guy) and he fought Kurama. All he needed to do was S/T jutsu and that's all he did.
Shikamaru doesn't have the abilities of Minato Itachi & Tobirama so he has to do more thinking then they do. Shikamaru drew a blank because he nor anybody else without KUrama's chakra knew what was gonna happen. Shikamaru doesn't have experience with BIJUUs like Naruto does. Shikamaru didn't have power to stop OBITO so he had to draw a blank plus the Shinobi Alliance was riding on his shoulders in his mind. Sasuke asked Naruto what was next and he is also one of the ones fighting Obito. Shikamaru knew the Alliance couldn't do a thing about any of OBITO's new jutsu so he drew a blank. Shikamaru's thinks of strategies at least 50 to 200 at a time for one situational battle. The others just pick the right one that gets done easier because they have the jutsu to back it up. Shikamaru doesn't even have the Taijutsu to perform impressively so he has to use his brain to think of what others can do to help with the plan.

Is this nigga serious? 1 he didn't know how Minato's ftg worked and that Kyuubi chakra was still on them nor would Itachi. Shikamaru should be compared to the other smart shinobi. IMO he is smarter than Minato in battle.

tell me how he was suppose to no something something was on him he couldn't see and that Naruto's chakra can be linked with someone elses to teleport the entire SA?

They have all screwed up before. Itachi should have trusted his brother's well being to get Fugaku to call off the rebellion. Shisui's eye could have also been used early on at Fugaku . Also Minato admitted if he knew Obito was Tobi then he would have done something else to stop him. Tobirama's actions have many Uchiha lives ruined. <_< Also Shikamaru is not EDO like them, he is not an adult like them, he doesn't not have their brutality in him..

Just watch once he has some Intel he's gonna throw down a master strategy. He's beaten multiple people who are stronger than him (Hidan, Temari). Shikamaru is probably only equalled if not surpassed by his father. Itachi, Tobirams, and Minato all have POWER to back them up do their intellect in combat feels superior.
