So I was rereading some of the recent chapters and started thinking. Madara survived his fight vs Hashi via Izanagi, which renders one eye completely blind. Then awakened Rinnegan at the end of his life. I know he had a supply of sharingan but I kind of assumed you needed to have a set of eyes to awaken the Rinnegan and also that you had to already have EMS. So did he A) awaken his blind eye into Rinnegan B) get a new EMS sharingan C) get a fodder sharingan and skipped MS/EMS straight to rinnegan or D) Nagato implanted his rinnegan in Madara while he slept

Well madara awakened his rinnegan before nagato recieved them from madara

When he awakened rinnegan, his blind eye probably got its light back. Either that or it was plot.

He awakened the rinnegan in his blind eye. As soon as it went through the transformation, Madara's sight returned as well

Madara's blind eye turned into a Rinnegan is the most logical to think of.

I don't think he'd made a new EMS, nor do I think he used a fodder-gan.


Because I think the original eyes are what counts into developing a rinnegan, therefore having a new sharingan wouldn't work.

either he used his ems eyes or just his ms he could have switched back to after to awake it. light probably just restored. dont think too hard about it

maybe madara implant someone eyes before the battle and use it , after izanagi he switch back with his ems
