Quick question about part 1

Did the plot change over the course of Shippuden? I could be totally wrong, but so far as I remember back in part 1, chuunin exam arc, Hiruzen was renowned as the strongest Hokage and the God of Shinobi. Edo Tensei brought back Hashirama and Tobirama to full power and an elderly Hiruzen sealed them both. Aside from that, the Fourth Hokage was a literal legend and people were wishing he was alive so he could stop Orochimaru, who was then the scariest dude alive. Fast forward to the end of Shippuden, Hashirama and Madara are literal Gods, Hashirama is the God of Shinobi, Edo Tensei is imperfect and can't revive people to their full strength and Hiruzen isn't really anything overtly special.

Did I miss something or did I just watch the series wrong when I was 12?

Yea... Old man Hiruzen beats Ay with Lightning Armor levels 1 and 2 or Ohnoki with Jinton

Also, I think Kabuto said that Oro wasn't able to bring back Hashirama and Tobirama 100%. Seeing how Hashirama didn't use sage mode or Buddha and Tobirama didn't use FTG to neg Hiruzen; it seems likely.

Nah dude, from watching and reading this anime/manga for 10 years the show definitely changed from part 1.
Hiruzen the strongest who was able to do every jutsu? lol i would have liked to see him against Pein
Orochimaru super badass evil, now a father/mother
Minato the legendary saviour, randomly given the 9 tails cloak so he can be on par with the others. (even though since he had the yin half, wouldnt that half hate minato and not want to share his chakra until he went through the long process of becoming friends)

Power levels had to be changed otherwise all the new villians could have easily been defeated by Guy 5th gate or something.
I think the story of the Ataksuki collecting the 9 beasts went on for longer than anticipated so then the War was rushed and a lot of other characters and storylines were forgotten.
Like taking on normal missions to advance the ninja ranks, no one did that anymore in part 2.

Hiruzen was never hyped as the strongest Hokage, only the strongest of the Gokage (and a prodigy). Orochimaru's ET brought back the 1st and 2nd hokage to like half power (might be less), not full power, not to mention they were weaker because they were at the complete control of Orochimaru as oppose to being in complete control of their own body and mind. Hiruzen was never considered a god among shinobi to my knowledge, that title only ever belonged to Hashirama (with good reason). 1st or 2nd Hokage fighting Hiruzen individually would more than suffice to beat him, either one would shit on him. ET was never considered to be perfect in part 1.

This statement should be taken with a handful of salt, instead of a grain. Iruka is the one stating this and he is stating it to a class of first year academy students; which included Konohmaru.



Also, Kabuto asserted that Hiruzen was the strongest of the Gokage. But you roll your eyes at that, when you think about who was Kage at the time in other villages.

Finally, you're correct about Oro's Part 1 Edo Tensei being weak. Tobirama confirms this in Part 2.
