We clearly see Obito saying "Rin" before he is engulfed by the Juubi, then it shows the picture of Team Minato.

- First, we see Obito is the first one gone. Could this mean he is the first one to abandon/betray himself?
- Then we get to see Obito inside(?) the Juubi attached by Juubi like strands connected to each limb. How can there be 2 Obito's? Or a Juubito and a Obito? Also, how can he experience pain when he gets his limbs ripped off? He has never shown pain from any damage he has received throughout the entire series.
- Kakashi's face gets ripped off along with another limb, if he doesn't care about this world, why think of someone who just tried to change your mind?
- Minato yells Obito's name, then Juubito doesn't recognize him. The Juubi proceeds to rip off half of his face, his nearly halved sharingan is also shown with an action symbol by it as he thinks of Rin. This mean anything?
- Then we magically see Obito reattached himself along with his cherished picture, because of this he somehow gets stronger and controls the Juubi, along with regaining consciousness. He recognizes Minato, proving it's Obito.

TO THE POINT:
Now, is the majority of this merely symbolism?
- If so, what was it trying to show? Obito still needs friends or real life emotions to overcome the Juubi's power? If so he obviously still cherishes things in this world.
- If not, how can Obito be 2 separate beings? One outside the Juubi, one inside. And how did this dude manage to literally pull himself together and resist while being inside/apart of the most powerful being in Naruto?

I think it was definitely symbolic, the "other" Obito was something like "inner Obito", pretty much like Naruto when he had his talks with Kurama, meeting him in his cell etc.

However, I have no idea what it might mean, either. :p

I don't think Obito has ever really stopped caring about Rin, Kakashi, and Minato. He simply sees their lives as expendable since he can simply 'resurrect' them within the Infinite Tsukiyomi.

Thread posted. I can say that I don't quite agree with any of you. However, I can claim to know what it all means.

It's like after Krillen from DBZ blew up by Frieza and Goku learned how to go super saiyan just that instant. c:

Have no idea what it means either, when he was getting his face ripped in half was extremely creepy.

I just thought of it being that the Juubi was torturing Obito mentally
We saw with Naruto, that a jinchuriki can go into a subconscious area and speak with their bijuu, and the interaction can determine the life of the jinchuriki and if the bijuu can escape. It was probably a similar sort of thing to when Naruto fought Kurama in his subconscious, and then he could use KCM, except more a mental torture battle, where the juubi was breaking his will and tearing him apart, but Obito was able to regain his will and resist the Juubi's torture because of his desire and love for Rin, meaning that if Obito lost, then the Juubi would have probably borken free and the fight would have gone back to normal.

But that's my take on it
