Questions about Boruto

Ok so there's this mysterious chakra that controls people and Boruto can see it with his new dojutsu (tenseigan?).

Along with his ability to see the chakra, it is shown he can see a tail leading off of it which would most likely lead to whoever is casting the jutsu. Why didn't Boruto follow it? Is it that he cannot control when his ocular power turns on and off at this time?

Then you have Boruto experiencing this phenomenon with his eye along with seeing mind-controlling invisible energy, why doesn't he tell anyone? As mischeivous as he is he's shown to be a pretty wise kid and clearly if you're seeing the shit he's seeing it would be logical to let someone in charge know in order to protect the village and himself.

He's is still in the process of figuring that out based what he's seen so far and with his limited knowledge he's not even sure about what he saw or that he has awakened a doujutsu.
