Why doesn’t anyone else recognize sunshine or Escanors blessing in general besides Merlin? Didn’t the demons fight the goddess clan and mael?

Maybe because it happened 3000 years ago or maybe because the effects of original Gowther's spell

Yea that’s what I was thinking, more Gowther spell, cause chandler recognized it in the latest chapter

I think it's because Mael was the Goddess clan's trump card and he was not sent out to battle unless it was a major one. So many of the demons did not know of Mael's power.

To add on, I don't think many demons would even consider that a human could be wielding Sunshine, though by now you've probably seen that it did become apparent to one of the demons. I also think that the usage of Sunshine may differ between Mael and Escanor. Given that Mael is an Archangel and the graces were meant for them, it may show itself in a different form.

Also as we've learned now, their memories were probably affected, so only people with strong ties to Mael would really remember it.
