Okay, so most of by now know about the impeccable and foolproof :)rolleyes: )Vision rule, which states members can be infracted or banned for posting in a troll thread. Now, does this rule apply to every thread made by a troll? Like, what if a troll makes four threads about the milky texture of a member's breasts, then makes a really good thought-out thread, are we allowed to post in that?

I guess I am the only one who didn't know that. How are we suppose to know which are troll threads from the beginning??I mean some threads are really dump but not trolling, just stupid questions or statements (don't get me wrong) and some troll threads start all serious and then the trolling begins.

You can tell which threads are not serious from skimming the content, you don't need to be a genius for that.

However, doing it one time will not result into a ban or infraction, replying useless spam continuously on troll threads to get noticed eventually does.

I also think you could have rather sent this as a Pm to Vision in person, to get the best answer

For those of you who are wondering, the vision rule is found here:

---

I think when a troll thread is closed and moderated, each post is individually looked at. If your post actually is relevant and not spam, you will not be punished...I think...

That is quite possibly the most retarded rule I have ever seen on an internet forum. All it does is encourage morons to troll more. Why the fsck would you punish your active members for the socially inept's failures at life?

For the purpose of this rule, 'Troll Threads' mean posts started with obvious intent of breaking rules and being a nuisance at the forums. For example: excessive spamming, or posting prohibited content or making threads to mock other members (including administrative staff).

These should be reported and then ignored altogether. Do not bump them up for any reason. You do not need to tell them that you are reporting them, even. It doesn't help anyone and only leads to more argument and flames. You do not get post count raise either as we totally delete such threads.

The reasoning behind is pretty simple- starve the troll/Forum pest.

If it's a genuine discussion then it's another matter and no you won't be infracted for such discussions unless you break some other rule.

Adding to this, while many may not actually understand the rule, the principle is something anyone understands. When a child says a curse word, if everyone laughs and thinks its funny, she'll say it more and more and more just to get the attention. If people didn't post in clear troll threads, then the trolls wouldn't post or make them. They make them because they get reactions from them and attention. Bashing the trolls is also not useful. Saying you're reporting it is ridiculous and counterproductive. Adding to spam is nothing but a nonsensical action. And the list goes on. Also, all posts in a troll thread are by definition spam. Spam is against the rules and infractable. In essence, vision's rule is nothing more than a reminder of the global rules of the forum.
