Question on manga

Does anyone have any idea on the delay time it takes for japan to get the manga to us getting the manga? Like are they way ahead of us or do we typically just get the translated version right after they get it?

If they were way ahead of us, wouldn't we have people that get those scans and translate it so we can be up to date with them?[SUB]
