The answer is actually very simple, hashirama DNA......... Hashiramas DNA has somewhat of preservative that keeps the body from decaying, not only does it have preservatives.... It also has the "heart ability".
What do I mean about the heart ability is as follows, every cell has enough life force and energy to maintain a fraction of soul...... In obito's cause his whole right side contains hashirama DNA which means he live for a lot longer than any one within naruto universe.......... The only way for obito to die is if one was simply ping to destroy all the hashirama cells with in obito, or if the cells run out of energy.

Genjutsu was only there to show Kakashi stabbing rin again.

Genjutsu was cancelled at the last panel to show that Obito don't have a heart and doesn't feel pain!
