Why is it that members are no longer allowed to have more than image in their sig?

Normally, I won't question why a mod/admin has done something, but this just seems impractical to me. If the old server could support thousands of members with more than one image, and bear in mind that could mean up to 300,000 pics(100,000 members times three, the max number of images possible), why is it that we can't have our normal number of images in our signature?

At first, I thought "Oh, it's just because NB isn't done yet," then I saw this post by Tsuchi:

Yes the global forum rules have been slightly revised. No, they are not likely to change any time soon. One image is enough. Too many people do not pay attention that large signatures cause problems for users with slow internet connections.

As for Premium users, I will confirm the rules for them with an admins.

Edit: I just saw the post above. Well if Rei warned you for this then I guess that confirms it.

This post brought two things to my attention:

1. Tsuchi is implying that this is the way it's going to be indefinitely, that the mods have no intention in changing it back.

2. Since some members can't use their brains and follow simple rules, EVERY member has face repercussions, which just isn't very fair.

Now, this thread isn't to argue against the mods' decision or to ask them to reverse it, but just to voice my opinion on it and ask why it has happened in the first place.

It takes time for the image to load on slow connections and sometimes we cant keep up with the base

I find sigs annoying. Not sure why... but I do. So I actually approve of the new rule.

Well,I understand most people have slow internet or on a console/handheld device. At times when I'm on my ps3 the page would loud slowly each time someone has a huge sig + a gif.It gets annoying at time's but I don't really care for it.

If you want 2 pic (the way I see it) you have to keep it with in the standards. Nothing too large in size.

While I agree that it is somewhat annoying (as I was also forced to remove one image myself) ..
you've got to understand that this is for the greater good , and you have to respect the rights of other people .

oh and here is something that can help you : You can just implement 2 images in one , while maintaining the allowed limited size of an image of course .

If you really wanted to voice your opinion about this then you should have done it directly to the staff instead of making a thread that could potentially cause problems and potentially cause staff bashing.
Also, considering you posted the answer(that was given to you by Tsuchi) to the question you had what was the point of this thread? Seems like this is just a cry for attention.

OT: What is the problem with only have one pic in your sig? Make the decision on which sig you want and live with it or you could change it every so often. This really isn't hard to comprehend.
To the Premium Members who state they paid to have 3 pics in their sig. No you didn't, you donated money to support the site you are on for FREE and got some benefits in return. You have many other benefits that other members don't have, be happy that you have those benefits because you know damn well you didn't donate money to support NB, you did it for the perks. (Not saying that I didn't do it for the perks at one point or another).
