Ok, so I was re-watching Zoro's sacrifice when I noticed something. Kuma said "Before I accept your sacrifice, I will make you experience Hell," which we know refers to Zoro taking in Luffy's suffering.

Now, at first, I thought that Zoro took the suffering when he lunged into the bubble and Kuma left him there expecting him to die. But I thought about what he said carefully, he said "BEFORE I accept your sacrifice", so basically, not only did Zoro take the suffering of Luffy, but also an ass-kicking from Kuma afterwards and not just Luffy's suffering only, correct?

I don't think so...I think that Kuma meant that if he wants to take Luffys place he would accept to take Luffys suffering. So basically taking Luffys suffering is actually taking Luffys place.Kuma never intended to kill Luffy cause he was member of the revolutionary army!!I think.so...

That could just be the translation as I don't think Kuma did anything afterwards. When they met again on Shabondy, Kuma was surprised he was still alive, while when Sanji found Zoro on Thriller Bark, Zoro was still standing. So if Kuma still had something planned, I think he eventually didn't do anything in the end and left while Zoro was still taking all that damage.

What Cali said. I think Kuma was sure that that amount of pain of Luffy's combined with the pain Zoro already suffered would kill him so imo he just gave luffy's oain to Zoro and then left, but served him right, thinking something like that could end Zoro, silly Kuma.
