If you have the rinnegan does it matter who your six pains are? So for example if minato is one of your pains does it make him really strong?

Also who would you choose as your six pains ???

I believe it does matter since Obito used Jincuuriki who could still use their tailed beasts. :y

Six pains...as in being able to use the abilities pertaining to the Six Paths of Pain?

I believe it does not. But, for example, if you had Minato as one of your Paths, and you would want to exploit his abilities along with using Rinnegan techs, chakra consumption would be much greater.

Depends how you use them...

If you use six pains, and use the rikudou Justus through them (like Nagato).
Then by all means, even a fodder wouldn't matter.

If you neglect the rikudou techniques, and allow the corpse to use their original techniques (like Obito).
Then choose your corpse wisely...
