So what kind of chakra levels would someone need to be able to use a transplanted rinnegan? I'm not entirely sure myself because we have only seen people using it that are either amazing with their natural chakra levels (nagato) or have both senju and uchiha dna (obito)

But what kind of baseline do you need? Could Kakashi have a transplanted Rinnegan with his chakra levels? How much more of a drain would it be than a sharingan eye? Or maybe is the Rinnegan just a haxxed dojutsu that will always boost your power even if it's transplanted which might explain how Nagato was able to use its techs so easily despite it being a transplant.

my answer: You need a strong body, and alot of chakra to maintain the power the Rinnigan gives

I don't think the chakra levels matter. Maybe it's just a power boost. Idfk

Senju DNA is a lot to handle, as Danzo displayed in the fight against Sasuke. So, I'm going to say it takes a pretty high chakra reserve to do so.

Large chakra reserves and depending on the jutsu, you will burn out like Nagato did riving the village. No kakashi could never use the Rinnegan, first major large chakra use and He be dead.

So if (and I'm not saying I want this to happen) Sasuke got a transplanted Rinnegan could he handle it without Senju dna? I'm not sure he has adequate chakra levels.

Both Madara Uchiha and Obito Uchiha use Uchiha/Senju DNA to control and use the Rinnegan.

You need Kushina's Special Chakra to handle and unlock the Rinnegan's full potential

He cant unlock rinnegan unless he gets Senju DNA so either way you need Senju DNA.

Kishimoto has already established that chakra levels are arbitrary and are like power levels in DBZ. If someone gets an ability that is supposed to drain ridiculous amounts of chakra - don't worry, in fifty chapters, they'll be able to spam the ability without a care in the world - even if, a hundred chapters ago, "only a jinchuriki could have enough chakra to use such an attack."

That's how chakra in Naruto works.

So you think someone like Kakashi could handle the Rinnegan nowadays.

I think that, if Kishimoto decides it will be a good idea, all of his previous work that says it shouldn't be possible will be rendered invalid and he'll insert some silly little work-around.

Personally, I don't think the Rinnegan, itself, requires large amounts of chakra. Only certain abilities it grants require those levels of chakra; even then, those abilities would be performed according to the chakra levels of the user (IE - Kakashi could pull of the 'gravity nuke' - but it would be less a nuke and closer to a 500lb general purpose bomb).

But, like I said... it's all become arbitrary. The Susano'o requires hideous amounts of chakra that Sasuke just happens to have developed. The same goes for the 4th Hokage who managed to stand roughly toe-to-toe with the nine tails - that was an arbitrary boost to his power for the sake of the good idea fairy.

Which is why the relative power of ninja and Kage have simply climbed and climbed out of control and with such inconsistent comparisons across generations. Hence the "Hiruzen Sarutobi is the weakest Kage" claims (since the other Kage were never depicted in combat until much later - when it had become more customary to destroy several square kilometers of forest with each move).

It's the DBZ effect.
