If a sage mode user gets put into a genjustu they are unable to move. Can they use that to their advantage though? I'm thinking while they can't move they could absorb the nature energy and disrupt their chakra to break free of the genjustu.

I'm not sure if it's possible it's just a theory. What do you guys think?

Madara was never able to put Hashirama in genjutsu, due to sage mode or plot, either one

Genjutsu needs an advanced control of chakra, and this chakra control must be strong enough to disrupt the target's chakra networks. Sage mode user's chakra is way too strong to be affected by normal levels of genjutsu.

But what about Uchiha's Yin based Genjutsu? That's a hard question... I really can't answer to that.

Honestly, I made that thread some time ago. I think it's possible.

As we know, those how master Sage mode have learned how to absorve natural energy arround them and balance this energy with they chakra and their chakra system/flow, creating senjutsu chakra and entering sage mode.

To break free from a genjutsu, one can disturb their chakra flow to try to wake up. Howeve, that's hard in a genjutsu, but it can be done. Also, another option is to have an ally to place his chakra into the one who is under the genjutsu. This new(outside) chakra will also disturb the chakra flow, waking someone from a genjutsu.

So, if someone who has mastered SM gets caught in a genjutsu, he is able to escape it by absorving natural energy and balancing him with his own. This would be an outside energy, disturbing the SM user's chakra flow, and waking him up from a genjutsu, considering that natural energy is not their own chakra when it is outside. SM users have a great chakra control, because mastering SM and controlling natural energy is very hard. So, if they are under a genjutsu, they might be able to do that and escape from it.
This is it, I think with a lot of focus, one can use the natural energy(once SM is mastered) to escape a genjutsu.

I don't think its possible, because by drawing in natural energy his chakra isn't being disrupted its just kind of increasing!=D

But I see a contradiction on this logic. How can a Sage Mode user absorb and control nature energy, when their chakra networks are already affected by genjutsu?

Genjutsu affects chakra networks, SM users can't have correct control over his chakra networks under this circumstances... Their skill controlling chakra should be extremely good in order to be able to override the genjutsu effect.

I mean, it would be like trying to throwing a dart at 100 meters of distance to a moving target (normal circumstance: a fixed target, genjutsu circumstance: moving target).

I don't think it's possible to even put a SM user into genjutsu , do to the fact that chakra keeps coming to them , it will break genjutsu right ? .................food & penny for thought .

I see your point. But look what I said "SM users have a great chakra control, because mastering SM and controlling natural energy is very hard. So, if they are under a genjutsu, they might be able to do that and escape from it.".

My point is that in order to perfectly master SM, the user must have a great chakra control, otherwise, he will turn into an animal or get an imperfect SM. So, SM users have a very good chakra control.

But I understand you, and I agree with you. It would be wayyyyyy harder for the SM user to balance the chakra, it would require a perfect chakra control. But it's a possibility.

Another explanation is this one: Considering that SM users can absorb natural energy easily, I think the great deal about SM is balancing that energy(as shown in naruto's training). But here's the thing: considering that in order to break a genjutsu, it is needed an outside energy entering the chakra system, once the SM user absorbs the natural energy(the natural energy would enter his body and his chakra, but it wouldn't be balanced yet) he would free himself, right? And once free, he would easly balance the natural energy.

We all know that genjutsu can be overcome by disturbing one's internal source of chakra. This was shown in the Killer Bee Vs Sasuke fight. Yet what happens when the source of chakra is nature itself, and as such is constantly in change? It would appear as natural energy is used, every time the wind increases/decreases a person in Sage mode has their chakra disturbed. Thus, possibly rendering them immune to genjutsu as long as this state is maintained.

An interesting idea but I don't think it would work. Gathering natural energy and harnessing SM comes from balancing chakra with your chakra and natural energy. If you're already in genjutsu, how can you balance your disturbed chakra with natural energy? If anything, it might just lead to the SM user turning himself into stone because they won't be able to properly balance the two chakras if one of the two assets are not completely in their control.
