Question about Preta Path

I'm not sure if this has been asked(or if this is the right place to ask) but can Preta Path absorb Amaterasu? Technically, its just fire release to an extreme. And the Preta Path did absorb Jiraiya's fire style attack. So could it do the same if struck with Amaterasu? Yes, any Rinnegan user could push it away with Shinra Tensei, but could this work as well?

Amaterasu is chakra based, if preta path is active then amaterasu will be absorbed. If it has already made contact I still believe it can be absorbed and it can be pushed away as well via shinra tensei.

My guess is out of:

Kabuto was to shocked to react
He just didn't think of it in time or
He was still getting use to nagato's abilities and what to use when (basically the same as the second point)

It should be one of those 3

wrong, kabuto was shocked that itachi broke out of edo tensei, thats what gave itachi the opening to use ama on nagato

OT: preta absorbs all chakra based attacks, ama is chakra based so it gets absorbed

He is being controlled, kabuto isn't as good as using his edo's abilities as the user them self, he said this with deidara that he "didn't understand his art" so left deidara personality open and let him control his.

But with nagato he couldn't do this as nagato would not do his bidding as madara and deidara would as their on the same side.

Don't see why not to be honest. Why does it matter if Nagato used ST on Amaterasu instead of the Preta Path? They're both basically just tools to get the job done. People were speculating at the Preta Path vs. Jinton too. Of course when it comes down to it, only Kishimoto can lay down the card anyways. Not enough information to make a solid decision even though there's less going for Amaterasu's victory IMO

nagato pushed amatrasu but he didn't absorb it although absorbing it is easier than push it ,that mean nagato can't absorb amatrasu
